CBI’s Nageswara Rao Guilty Of Contempt; Top Court’s Unusual ‘Punishment’

M Nagswara Rao had ordered the transfer of an officer probing the Bihar shelter home case.

New Delhi: 

M Nageswara Rao, an additional director at the Central Bureau of Investigation, was found guilty of contempt for ordering the transfer of an officer in the Bihar shelter home case by the Supreme Court on Tuesday.

Rejecting his apology, the judges also fined Mr Rao Rs 1 lakh and asked him to sit in court till it rises for the day.
