The opposition CPI(M) on Wednesday alleged that its Central Committee member Badal Chowdhury was attacked by “BJP-sheltered goons” in South Tripura district.
Mr Chowdhury, the deputy chief of the opposition within the state meeting and former minister, was injured and his automobile was broken within the assault, the occasion mentioned in a press release.
Native BJP leaders denied the cost whereas the police mentioned the matter is being investigated.
The CPI(M) mentioned that the incident occurred when Mr Chowdhury and different occasion leaders have been holding a programme to watch the dying anniversary of Dhananjay Tripura, a Kokborok language motion martyr, at Manirampara village, round 110km from Agartala.
A gaggle of BJP sheltered goons reached the spot on motorbikes and launched an unprovoked assault on them injuring Chowdhury, the Left occasion mentioned.

The CPI(M) took out a rally in Agartala in protest in opposition to the alleged assault.
