Saving the kelp forest that stars in My Octopus Teacher

The Bafta-winning Netflix documentary My Octopus Trainer focuses on a film-maker who befriends an octopus.

However the unsung star of the present is definitely the kelp forest off the coast of Cape City that he dives in – one of many world’s richest ecosystems.

The makers of the documentary are a part of a marketing campaign to protect the underwater forest. BBC Africa Correspondent Andrew Harding went to satisfy them.

Producer: Becky Lipscombe

Filming and enhancing: Christian Parkinson
